HOW TO MAKE A WREATH FROM AN OLD BOOK

When it comes to decorating your home, you don’t want to spend an enormous amount of money. Here’s a D-I-Y book wreath that’s easy on your wallet and will add beauty to any space in your home.

To make this wreath, I used…

Old Book(s) – preferably one that you don’t mind destroying

Clear Tape

Hot Glue Gun

X-acto Knife

Scissors

Piece of Cardboard – cut in a wreath form

The piece of cardboard will be the backing to support your wreath. The size will vary depending on how big or small you decide to make your wreath. You may want to cut a hole in the center wreath form depending if you would like a closed wreath or an open wreath.

I started by bending the pages of the book on itself and carefully tore each page out. You can use an X-acto knife or scissors, at this point, if you’re book pages cannot be easily torn away.

I then rolled the pages into a cone-shape and applied the clear tape to secure it. Now, this is the perfect time to watch your favorite Netflix show, listen to a Podcast, or grab a bowl of Mint Chocolate ice cream. This will take a little time to complete.

Once you’ve completed rolling and taping the cones, you are ready to assemble your wreath! Start by gluing the cones securely to the cardboard wreath form you cut out earlier. I suggest gluing one to the top, bottom, left, and right. Think of it like the face of a clock or cardinal directions. Fill in the quadrants with the same about of cones. Layer the cones to give the illusion of looking fuller. Continue this method until you are satisfied with the look of your wreath.

For the backing, I attached a binder clip to the cardboard and hung it up. Voila!

Isn’t it beautiful? I love how it turned out! It would look great in any space in your home. I can’t wait to share more projects with you!

NOTE: You could also glue/or tie a string around the cardboard wreath form prior to the start of assembling your wreath. Also, I embellished my wreath with a printout silhouette of a deer. I traced over the silhouette with a black marker to make it stand out even more. Then I cut a circle around the deer, colored the edge of the circle with the same black marker, and taped it in the center of my wreath.
