For Father’s Day, the boys and I purchased a Solo Stove Ranger for Mr. Simplyladdie. It arrived early and was perfect timing for the camping adventure this weekend.
My oldest son wanted to take Mr. Simplyladdie camping and fishing. Our youngest decided, at the last moment, that he wasn’t going with them. My oldest invited two of his friends and their dad. It turned into a father-son event. NO girls allowed!
After breakfast, the boys packed up the portable Solo Stove Ranger and headed out to meet their friends. The boys and their friends drove together to Lake Wateree, South Carolina. We live in the greater Charlotte area so it’s about an hour and half drive to lake. The boys took the boat out to scour for a campsite, then pitched their tent, started the a fire, went swimming and did some fishing.
The boys love making s’mores and Mr. Simplyladdie can’t stop talking about it.
I’m amazed by the light weight, stainless steel design. It doesn’t need any batteries or fans. You simply fill your Solo Stove Ranger with wood, sticks, or twigs and light. The wood burns so beautifully. Watching the flames and the embers burn is so mesmeric in my opinion.
It’s simple yet functional and beautiful – in my opinion. There’s no need to stomp the fire out, throw dirt on top of it, or pour water over it. It’s all contained in one unit and you won’t have to worry about wearing the smoke smell on your clothes.
After the fire dies out completely, dump the spent ashes out and you’re done! The Solo Stove Ranger also comes with it’s portable carrying pouch for easy transport.

If you’re still undecided about what to get Dad for Father’s Day, this is the PERFECT Dad gift (unless he doesn’t like the outdoors). This mommy and family gives the Solo Stove Ranger two thumbs up!
Happy Camping,
Laddie
