Easy Crochet Washcloths

Posted on March 25, 2019April 19, 2019 by Laddie

Have you ever wanted to buy good, quality washcloths but they are too thin and way too expensive or the ones that you do buy are really cheap and you hate them?! That’s me for sure. Here’s my solution: make them yourself! I made one for each of my boys. I LOVED how they turned out.

What you’ll need:

J Crochet Hook (5.5 mm)

100% Cotton Yarn

Yarn Needle

Scissors

Pattern:

Row 1: Chain 40. Single Crochet in the 4th chain from the hook, *chain 1, skip 1 chain, Single Crochet in the next chain*; repeat from * to *. Chain 2 and turn your work.

Row 2: Single Crochet in the next chain-1 space, *ch 1, Single Crochet in the next chain-1 space*; repeat from * to *, end with a single crochet in the chain-2. space at the start of Row 1. Chain 2 and turn your work.

Rows 3 – 40: Single Crochet in the next chain-1 space, *chain 1, Single Crochet in the next chain-1 space*; repeat from * to *, ending with a Single Crochet in the chain-2 space at the start of the previous row. Chain 2 and turn your work.

Binding off: Slip stitch into the next chain-1 space, ch 1, repeat until you are at the end and tie off. Use yarn needle to weave in the ends.

I didn’t add an edging to my wash clothes – maybe if I had girls, I might of. Oh well, I have boys. Good enough!

Enjoy! I hope you make them. Let me know what you think.

I agree, homemade and handmade are definitely the best. I LOVE your photography, especially the close-ups on details. Keep it up.
