Hi friends! I was inspired by Jenny Jones’ Fall-Of-The-Bones Ribs. I followed the recipe but changed it a little for ease since I’m a stay-at-home mom and home school two boys. I don’t want to make my own barbecue sauce! I also doubled the dry rub ingredients because depending on your rack of ribs, you may need less or more dry rub. This part is up to you depending on your palette. Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
Pork baby back ribs, 1 rack
Juice of 1 lemon
1/4 cup dry rub (see below)
Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue sauce (or your choice of bbq sauce)
Dry Rub Ingredients (makes 1/2 cup):
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 teaspoons chili powder (not powdered chili)
4 teaspoons sweet paprika
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons dry mustard
2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
In a bowl, combine ingredients.
*Store the remainder in a mason jar or air-tight container.
First, preheat your oven to 300° F.
Remove excess fat from ribs. Peel the silver skin off the back of the ribs – lift with a sharp knife and grab with a paper towel to remove.
Your ribs should look like this afterwards:
Cut ribs apart into individual pieces. Rub ribs all over with lemon juice.
Coat ribs with dry rub. You can use as little or as much as you desire. Place ribs meat side down in large aluminum pan and cover tightly with foil, shiny side out.
Bake in the oven for 2 1/2 hours in the middle rack. Remove ribs from oven & pour off liquid. Brush barbecue sauce over all sides of ribs.
Let stand for 5 minutes.
Plate and serve with your choice of sides. Enjoy!
Let me know what you think.
xo,
Laddie
